          Meet Kevin Warner: New Lead Ranger at USFS Aspen/Sopris Ranger District

          Kevin Warner started his new job as head of the Aspen/Sopris Ranger District of the White River National Forest on Monday. He began his career in 2001 as a summer intern on the Maroon Bells/Snowmass Wilderness Area. He’s worked on national forests in Alaska and Arizona, and for the past four years, in the Glenwood Springs headquarters of the White River National Forest. KDNK's Amy Hadden Marsh talks with him about his work.

          Eagle County

          Every Friday from 9 am till noon, Eagle County staffers visit the Roaring Fork Valley to meet with residents at the El Jebel Community Center.           Glenwood Springs City Council voted unanimously Thursday night to financially support the Glenwood Springs Citizens Alliance's efforts to fight the proposed quarry expansion. And, as KDNK's Amy Hadden Marsh reports, some of the money came from personal funds.

          Symphony in the Valley

          Symphony in the Valley performs The Nutracker with some added zest on December 6 at New Hope Church in New Castle at 7pm, then on December 7 at the Ute Theater in Rifle at 7pm, and again at the Ute Theater on December 8 at 2pm. Music Director Kelly Thompson, Manager Amanda Watkins, and President Ruth Mollman joined Raleigh Burleigh on Express Yourself to preview the event which includes an original arrangement by a local 8th grader.

          Dune Butler of Seattle psyche-rock band General Mojo's joins Raleigh Burleigh on Express Yourself to talk about their upcoming show at Steve's Guitar's on Wednesday, December 11.

          Today was the third annual Healthy Rivers Youth Water Summit. Students from six local schools met at Third Street Center in Carbondale to share presentations on topics like Health of the Roaring Fork River, Impacts of Snowmaking, Hydro Power, Grey-Water Use and more. Sarah Johnson is the director of the Youth Water Leadership Program, the group that organizes the event. She spoke about what makes this year’s summit stand out.
